Holiday Motivation: does it exist?
Most of the time we use the holidays as an excuse to not train. However as a professional martial arts instructor I believe I am responsible to lead by example. I need to show my students what is possible. Not just when it is easy but all the time.
I like to think of holiday training kind of like training while injured. Not always at 100%. Instead of an injured shoulder or knee it is my diet that is hurting. So I may not be at my goal weight but I am still working out and for the most part trying not to go over board on all the festive treats.
Try and keep in mind that your body needs a holiday too and that it is ok to take some time and enjoy this jolly time of year. And of course set those fitness resolutions in the back of your mind ready to engage come the new year.
